I picked up this book in the philosophy section of a used bookstore. There were old Polaroids, a party invitation from 1985, and a clipped recipe hidden in the pages. I was charmed. I also noticed the worn spine and yellowed pages and knew that this book must have been well loved by its owner. I just finished the introduction and am astonished so far. This is going the be a fantastic read.

A change named death was one of the most mindchanging and influential chapters of a book Ive read, challenges many of the nihilistic views on death without arguing and creates a new beautiful way to view the scary and terrifying thing called death. Wish I could just pdf this chapter and send it to people but for now everyone will just have to hear me quote it randomly.

Very dense, but remarkably insightful. Even when the science is a bit dated, the author makes wonderful lateral observations that bring a depth of meaning to the everyday. It's been a slow read.

Polarity principle chapter was beautiful (as all of the chapters gave been) but its really starting to build up this theme of something above all that is running the show, explaining themes that run beyond human comprehension.
