The author's (modern) political and social biases keep shining through like moth-eaten holes in an otherwise-fine garment held up to the light, but there's still a lot of useful accounts being shared.

Argh...this author has compiled and presented a good amount of information, but he so frequently tints it with his rearward-looking progressive leftist pontification that it's frustrating to get through in some places...!

...I'm also not pleased with slave owners being compared with gun owners; yes, both were concerned with restrictive laws falling in with the Slippery Slop principle- but, slavery is evil, and gun ownership is not. Would have made a lot more logical consistency if the author equated slave owners and abortion advocates.

Started off on the wrong foot by equating antebellum Abolition and fugitive slave assistance as "the first Black Lives Matter" movement, but otherwise this is fairly good.
