Status Updates From Crossings: A novel

DNF. Read maybe 30 or 40 pages and decided it was not my jam.

That’s all I could take. Just not grabbing me, so parking me on the DNF list.

Definitely the kind of book one SHOULD read, without possibly really wanting to. It speaks of loads of things; family, poverty, aspirations, a period naively clueless about the costs of anything. People aren't sociopaths in this tale, even if they are robbers and murderers and madmen. There's a certain local charm I find captivating.

Very literary, and reminds me of all the novels I had to read in university. Enjoyable, so far. Amazing voice. Reminds me a bit of both Margaret Atwood and Adrienne Rich.

lambert reminds me a lot of plath in that both of them are startlingly plain when it comes to describing terrible things

this book is really horrific but very good. definitely not the kind of book you can "enjoy" but still

this book is rly difficult 2 read because of the abuse i keep having 2 take breaks but i really like the way lambert writes
