I am really dislike him John Henry to the point that I do not want him with Emery a difference between what Emery did with Naomi and what John Henry has done with the sheriff is that Emery did not have any evidence he made that up to give John Henry peace John Henry had evidence he just made himself a dirty cop. These two Emery and John Henry they keep patronizing Nico, but what Nico says is correct. John Henry’s drunk miss is why Emery gets into the predicament he gets into in the first place. The infantilization of Nico is disgusting, but I’m hoping at some point, Emery understands that Nico was always right.

I’m pretty sick and tired of Emery being in hospitalized at the end of these books all the goddamn 10 this is the third book that he’s been in this position again it is getting tedious and repetitive and also it happens because John Henry does something to make Emery for like he needs to separate from John Henry and that’s never addressed

If anyone is reading this and you happen to be a man that has survived TV, this point in this book for my experience on what I know a lot of men that have been beaten by other men or women have this voice in their head this feeling where they feel they can’t defend themselves or they shouldn’t know that you are worthy you’re valid and you’ve ever right to defend yourself

Emery needs to be taken care of the amount of trauma and abuse. This man is going through right now. The PTSD alone is crippling to read. This author needs to know how to take care of his characters. I cannot stand John Henry, I understand on Harry is in pain, but the torture Emery is going through right now is inhumane.

I am sick and tired of seeing a survivor of DV been hit repeatedly by someone is supposed to be his love interest that he’s supposed to be going to end up with. This is messed up beyond words. This book was written within two years of this review, 2023. This is not a book that was written in 1999 where I can excuse this authors recklessness.

And I love that Emery sees now that Nico is the mature one between all three of them, and I’m not surprised that John Henry doesn’t see that yet

I really don’t know if this is the last week of Nico, but I wish him the best. He has been the wrong party in this mess. As much as I love Anne-Marie, his trauma has spilled into hurting an innocent bystander. And I wish nothing but the best for Nico if this is the last we see of him and I’m hoping it is so that he doesn’t become a worst version of himself, and he can heal from this.

So I have been waiting to get to a place with Nico where I don’t feel like I have so much empathy for him. I want to get to place where I am. I’m not supporting Nico because he’s a third person in this relationship. But everything he’s saying makes sense. The reason he’s feeling what he’s feeling is because of the truth of the matter and that is an Emery feels for John Henry., And he’s denying it

So far of the three books up to this point this third book is the best one. I like the counterbalance in this book. Everything that’s going on between this too is being done with purpose. I understand Somerset now and I understand Emery now. There issues makes sense the way they’re also apologizing for this issues and moving on and growing from this issues. I really like this. It’s much better planned out.

OK now I’m going to see Nico as a manipulative bitch. And I like that because I don’t want to like Nico but prior to this moment he’s been the likable of the three characters between Nico and Emery and John Henry. But now, Nico‘s manipulative side is beginning to be shown and now I can get into really not like him and I do not want to like him so I feel excited now.

I don’t get why Emery is into Somerset. I really don’t. There is very little redeeming qualities that John Henry has, I understand what Henry is into Emery, Emery has wonderful qualities and he’s very well balanced and he’s very giving and forgiving and caring and very encouraging. But summer said has really not done anything to justify falling for him.

The emotional weight of this book isn’t been taken care of. I feel like with Emery, especially but also with John Henry, the emotional traumas that they both have, especially with Emery is written like a I can accessory or enough thought, it’s not being handled with care and there’s no through line to healing all understanding within the characters narrative

When someone like Bing is around even if you don’t know what happened and even if you know what happened You’re not careful about how Emery takes that relationship you hear him asking you let’s go. You hear him saying he’s not comfortable here and you just disgustingly push him down after you asked him to leave after your dad said some horrible shit to him.

Seriously shouting like that I get that he’s emotional and something is probably going on but the things he gets to do I would be very surprised if he apologizes like he gets to be as toxic as possible and it’s written as though he’s justified for his toxicity because his emotional. A lot of us have emotions does not give you an excuse to treat people like shit.

I’m barely one percent in, and I just have to say, I love Nico. He showing compassion even though he feels insecure. I love Nico so far …
