3 pages in and I’m annoyed. In talking about pre-historic medicine, the author discusses setting broken bones and says confidently “and that’s when the surgeon comes in, the man that can work with his hands.”
….why would we assume that pre-historic healers would be MEN? Gggggggggrrrrrrrrrr

Interesting although finding it a little jarring how negative he discusses obesity. One example talking about Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) and simply giving obesity as a cause but not other reasons. As a paediatric nurse who has worked in ENT he gave no other reasoning behind this like enlarged tonsils/+-adenoids.
