made it to part 2 and let me just say: I might cry. like this is the sweetest most adorable story I have ever read in my life. the relationship between Silas and Eppie is genuinely the purest most wholesome thing; the relationship between Silas and Mrs. Winthrop is so adorable; and the relationship between Eppie and Aaron is just perfection. PLEASE let this have a happy ending! Please. 🥹

wow Nancy just earned my respect for being unwilling to marry her cousin (yes, I am aware how pathetic that sounds but this book was published in England in 1861 so there. also I just learned from a google search that marrying your first cousin has never been illegal in the UK. I am utterly baffled).

ok now after meeting Squire Cass I'm beginning to understand the behavior of his sons. but I still despise them.

Đang học thêu nên chọn một cuốn từa tựa với hi vọng chắp thêm lửa nghề nhưng tác giả bị cái gì ấy, có nhiều chương cảm thấy bôi ra cho đủ chữ chứ không liên quan đến mạch truyện.

Mấy cuốn phương tây gần đây giúp tôi hình dung đại khái thể loại mình thích đọc, nên từ rày trở đi sẽ chọn lựa tốt hơn.

I gen don’t fuck with the dialect, sure most time have no problems understanding what that word is by the sound of whats written, bet ughhh i do just lose all comprehension skills when reading too long of a text with that wording. Like i just skimp by it feeling that instead of reading an accent im just unconsciously skipping words 😭😭

I think im starting to see why this book is highly regarded. That was so well written omg… scary.

Doctor Kimble (country apothecaries enjoyed that title without authority of diploma), was flitting about the room (..), and being welcomed everywhere as a doctor by hereditary right-not one of those miserable apothecaries who canvass for practice in strange neighbourhoods, and spend all their income in starving their one horse, but a man of substance, able to keep an extravagant table like the best of his patients.

Wow, i think this was the first chapter i actually didn’t struggle to read. That was a nice change.

Right im imagining Silas just standing awkwardly at the entrance of the rainbow while everyone else tries to ignore him and make conversation of which I GEN COULD NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING - WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY ON ABOUTTTT ugh

Like at some point they talk about some wedding, then some cow, then ghosts and bets and I genuinely cant follow along or understand the context of anything. 🫩🫩
