I state the previous because the global economy was being threatened, and while I can blame the common ignorance that has allowed such negligence in my country's oversight, it was everywhere. Global banks and markets were scrambling, or at least, that is what I gather from this chapter. Its as if people were to look at you and go 'what pandemic'?

this was lighter than chapter 2, probably due to the more general over scope of the look rather than the mind numbing minutia that fucked up my life. all fascinating in it's own right. what I find most interesting is not that it effected everyone. That I knew. It's that when I told people that the crash of 2008 moved me (cali child) to the midwestern united states, they hadn't a clue what I was talking about.

Finished chapter 2. I have tried picking this up when I first got it back in like 2023. It's dense, it's pure information in a field I was rarely educated on. I have to know about this if I am to ever genuinely provide an opinion/fight against the opposition. Small bites.

It seems like a different author has written the introduction to the third part. The poor economics and logic is surprising from someone as respectable as Tooze.
