In banana groves, men grow and women harvest. They are inherited patrilineally. Farmers believe that work makes them strong and healthy. Their banana groves sustain them and give them all they need.
We always return home to die.
Farmers have local concerns, while the educated are more worldly.

In Tanzania, education means learning about foreign things. In the US, we learn about American things.
Education is considered the best inheritance because school is paid for by parents. It is precious because it cannot be taken away. In the US, education is free until college and isn't considered an inheritance.
When being taught a lesson, Tanzanians listen more than they speak.
