I love Stuart’s contemporaries. I have to say this might not be as good as Ritual Sins was for me, but it’s coming in as a close second.

In the mood for something gothicy

Well i'm a quarter in and i hate everyone including the MCs. Especially Alex the prodigal or not. Whatever else he is, he's a fucking manipulative dick head. I hate the way he pokes at Caroline with sharp words like a bug pinned to a table. I just fricken hate him. Caroline's a pathetic doormat. The other 'family' are stereotypes of wealthy asswipes. So far I plan to never read this author again.

I think this book may be doing what I disliked in The Ivy Tree better
