In his first political position, Hitler is essentially assigned to rat out his fellow soldiers that supported the left’s anti-war ideals. Despite the honor many of his comrades had in not allowing political differences cloud their ability to commend Hitler for his war efforts, Hitler would not extend the same courtesy.

Despite his exaggerations, hitler did appear to be brave in the Great War for the rear position his regiment was assigned to. His comrades and generals all attested to his willingness to do whatever task was needed. Further, towards the end of the war when most German soldiers were demoralized, Hitler remained eager to push on.

Unsurprisingly, Hitler constantly exaggerates his role in The Great War, depicting himself as a hero who was at the front of the line diving straight into English trenches. He writes of the war with excitement as if it were some game proving he did not fight as bravely as he claims. In addition, the excerpts from Mein Kampf twist almost every detail of his younger life to fit the narrative he wants to portray.

Not a Nazi-sympathiser, just fascinated about how he got to be like he was. Seems like a nutcase as a kid. Checks out I guess.
