Overall, I was bored and not invested, and it went off the rails towards the end but not in a fantasy way or mystic or anything really. Just bafflingly unbelievable; but I did enjoy this author’s other books, so due to that and the fact it was simply not poorly written, I will give it 3*

Oooh Katie is Ava's friend from uni (guess a lot of plastic surgery) K choked her brother to death cuz C wouldn't go thru w it, drugged her then did it herself and gaslit her that it was C; M makes it to house and gets caught in the crossfire of a knife; C chokes K and is stopped by daughter then punches TKO; K is arrested; M lives w them now; Ava gives birth, a boy named after her brother;

C finds the clues and is knocked out and tied up. Marilyn and the guy who liked C work together to find where C went.

K hates C because C made anon call to cops that 2 girls took a little boy into abandoned shed. She broke her promise and they were supposed to go away and be together forever. Now she wants to kill her.

C has to figure out who she is

Katie has been in hiding and has Ava. Maybe it would be more interesting if there were less office gossip and more K and C during their childhood, delving into their twisted close relationship and how they came to be who they are now. Not even the murder cuz I know that’s a finale reveal.
