As I suspected, Shakespeare's historical plays are not entirely factual. Creative license was in effect, in order to showcase the meaning behind the events.
Interesting to learn that there were still people alive who remembered the end of the War of the Roses, and that Queen Elizabeth I was not a fan of Richard being shown as handing over his crown. Probably even less so after they tried to depose her. 😳
