Status Updates From The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

Enjoyed the first 2 chapters most—the wry humor & the sharp exchanges between characters pulled me in. ~P.60 I felt myself disengage. The sudden influx of references to authors/books I don’t know made it harder to stay immersed. I think I'd appreciate the novel more if I understood the allusions; right now, it feels a bit like I’m reading a retelling of the story rather than experiencing it alongside the characters.
