I should have posted this forever ago, but why did Dax not notice that essie was missing...he literally said she wouldn't betray him like that... did he not see that Essie didn't come home with them? He's the one *double finger tap* not paying attention.

So we stab Dax in exchange for Essie's soul because he should've died that day on the cliff instead of her....😒 but he did probably try to save her, and it was either truly and accident or maybe Lirabel did something..... and when it's revealed that he's not the father it's all gonna come out, but it'll be too late....

...why she doesn't know anything Roa doesn't know. The one time she was supposed to scout she failed at it, and the other she was supposed to fly ahead and find a shortcut she didnt. There's still the relinquishing night "where she comes back" but that hasn't been fully explained yet and I'm leaning towards an unreliable narrator.....

Would make sense for why the bird is all her impulsive thoughts, and...

She's pregnant.... they're going accuse Dax and it's going to be a thing. But it's definitely Jas' and it was likely not consensual, from how they avoid each other. Dax is likely hiding Lirabel in her room to protect her.....

If the first time was quick and hurt, that's a Theo problem, not a Roa problem...... poor thing. Also beyond confirms that she's choosing Dax in this stupid little triangle.

I fear I missed a key detail early on.... do other people know Essie is a spirit in the hawk, or that Roa speaks with her? It doesn't appear so... Dax saying you have to live with out her, but i have to live knowing I took her. Theo searching for a knife to bring her back. They know the hawk is named Essie, didnt they think it odd she name a bird her dead sisters name? But im terrified to look it up and get spoilers.
