pale fires central conflict/idea seems to be kinbote wanting his life (delusions?) or his likelihood being captured in art and after not getting that to somehow tack it onto the completely disconnected artwork--maybe a commentary on inserting urself into other peoples art?

Having the time of my damn life with this! Turns out reading what might be the best novel you've ever read is fun and exciting, who'd have thought?

i miss the emotional connection of the poem, even Pynchon's Oedipa Maas felt more human, i could share her losing grasp of reality. i dont feel anything about kinbote.

still so much fun to read, but feels quite directionless after that purpose-full poem so early on. its probably on purpose but what purpose? purpose
