What they called hell,
We had named home.
On the streets where children were once found,
Transformed by evening to brutal grounds
That's where we belonged.

I started reading the book hoping it would give me a clearer understanding of housing affordability, (or a convincing critique of free-market solutions lol). What became clear to me so far is that making public housing or housing policy in general work is a complex problem. The desires and interests of different groups, the policies themselves, and how well the policies are executed and protected. 💀
