I know I’m an only child so maybe it’s my lack of experience of big families, but to me her memories mirror St Therese’s & Little Women’s a lot. Which is terrifying in the context of constant sexual abuse by his own father… such a dire contrast to LW’s and Little Therese’s larger than life but extremely kind and loving (and even saintly?) father figures… I’m terrified & yet cannot stop reading…
