In the end, things finally start to go his way, and he gets a fresh start with his daughter. Enzo grows old and looks back on everything he has learned about life, love, and determination. After Eve's death, I felt that Denny experienced a long period of numbness, facing problems that comes up in his life one after another. From getting arrested to conflicts with Eve's parents while breaking the race car, Enzo felt a sense of helplessness for Denny. However, through this part of the book, I enjoyed reading the interactions between them and I wish to see what will happen at the end of this story.

He proved that he was not a sex offender, and he can live with Zoe now. I was especially happy because after Eve’s death, the book kept showing only sad and difficult moments for Denny, which was frustrating to read. So it felt really satisfying to finally see a happy moment. Also, I was glad that Denny talked to Annika at the coffee shop earlier because that conversation might have influenced her to tell the truth.

The ending feels emotional. Seeing everything finally come together felt relieving, but also kind of bittersweet, knowing it was the end. Enzo’s perspective really stuck with me—I feel like I’ve grown with him throughout the story. His loyalty and love for Denny hit the hardest here. It felt like saying goodbye to someone you’ve known for a while.

Finishing this book brought me great pleasure and also sadness as I would have wished for it to continue on forever. I never thought that one could become so emotionally attached to a story, and I must say that I greatly enjoyed every page of the book. The perseverance that Denny showed in times of stress inspired me. I learnt that even though some people may not show it, there is still some good deep down in them.

Denny gains stability and moves forward with Zoë as his life finally begins to settle after everything he has been through. Enzo reaches the end of his life and accepts death peacefully, believing he will be reborn as a human. It makes me question what truly defines a meaningful life. I learned that staying strong and patient through hard times really matters. It also shows that growth comes from struggle.

I found it perfect that the book ends with Enzo running into a field, barking faster. The author uses the "one more lap" metaphor to connect the gap between a dog’s and humans. In racing, the last lap is where you give everything, and Enzo sees his death as the final "race" he must finish to earn the right to reborn as a man. Enzo exits with joy. He isn't losing his life. He is just accelerating into his next form.

I felt relieved and happy when everything worked out. I realized that since the situation was fixed the author was sending a message about staying in control even when life feels unfair. Seeing Enzo die was sad, but it felt ok because he had already done what he wanted to do. It made me think about how attitude shapes outcomes and how perseverance really matters.
