I thought the story was done. The sublime and rather funny-tragic mystery revealed and the after-court noshing heralding an end to Part 3 and the novel. But nope. Part 4 lays before me. I’m not usually unhappy with another many pages to read, but it really feels like at most it needs an epilogue. Arthur reminds me of Conrad Black w his Latin and vocabulary. But he’s become likeable as the story unfolded.

Arthur is starting to grow on me. Aside from the strangeness of not once ruminating on the certain advice he’d have gotten to quit smoking after a stroke, his self-deprecating wit is amusing. The ePub is not all that well formatted, but I’m getting the hang of figuring out the dialogue.

In 2013, I marked this book as Want To Read. Who knew‽ Not my memory! I found it thru Toronto Library Libby app for Canadian mysteries, first in a series. The first-person narrator is that pretentious Canadian snobby looks-down-nose at activists white male elite that makes me roll my eyes. Married to one of those plasticated white female WASPs I find humorous w their pretentiousness. The language keeps me reading.
