Status Updates From Cowboys Down

I’m going to DNF this one. Definitely not my cup of tea. While I really love Jasper, the amount of hatred and cruelty in this book is OTT. I was starting to like Vera and Angie, but even they are starting to seem mean. Totally not what I’m looking for in any book I read.

There’s a lot of mean people in this book. I understand there needs to be conflict, but this is awful. I’d like to see some kindness.

Okay, no. Fuck no.

If I were paying a fortune to stay at this ranch I'd be highly upset at the snide innuendo and outright insults being slung my way like this by the owner and employees. I'd demand a full refund, and I'd leave, stay at a luxury hotel in town (there are a few) and join daily ride excursions with other ranches.

Hell, if I heard this kind of thing directed at someone ELSE, I'd pitch a fit.

This is turning into a soap opera.

I've tried numerous samples today and nothing was doing it for me.
This Author normally always delivers for me and who doesn't love a Cowboy?

Fuck. If things were going bad, now appear the psycho ex-wife!!! Be strong Jasper!!!

This one was really good.....despite the sheer volume of things that happened to poor Jasper while on his holiday! ;)

Poor Jasper! Hot cowboy aside....

Meeeeh. A whole lotta meh. Why, god, why? Must I go on in my quest for a story to captivate me? This one, too much sex, too little interesting conflict. The bad guys are just one dimensional stupid homophobes and the sister (whom I initially thought would add good tension) is just freaking bratty annoying.

Gettin a little uninteresting, my attention is wandering, my impatience is growing. Why? Because the tension and conflict is on the shoulders of outside forces (the ranch visitors, the family), not between the two men.

Not Impressed much with the leap into lusty sex, but the surrounding story and depth of personalities and lives are keeping me reading despite that.

The first wank scene (Calum's) was better: more creative.
