How is she alive?

"When did my cute little tomboy who looked at me like I was the only boy in the world, grow up into such a stunning young woman?" (190). Yes, this is definitely the language teenage boys use in their heads in the 21st century

"I lean forward and squeeze her hand that's resting on the table, the reminisce of our previous conversation immediately falling away." (145) the author keeps using this word and I have never seen it as a noun. Does she mean...remnants???? Legit confusing

"I downsize the picture so fast I swear I give myself whiplash" (122) ...minimize?

"'I was hoping you would make it,' she says, pulling me in for a tight hug.

'And miss coffee with my favorite second mom. No way.'" (96) I was so confused by this until I realized it was a copy editing error
