I'm glad to be reading this as a buddy read because it makes me savor the experience all the more - no need to speed through the book when I can just read it a few chapters at a time and really take it all in. I will miss reading this though, I have to say. It's been a really nice companion and I wish I could read it somewhere more out in nature, rather than in the confines of a big city.

Ouhh. 🥺💗 Man what a beautiful book. I feel like I had a smart thing to say about this book but I fully forgot what because I got so caught up in reading it. I appreciate that Diaz' writing style makes you WANT to slow down and savour every sentence - not a lot of authors manage that with me, because my beloved Banana Yoshimoto is the only one that comes to mind, now that I think about it.
