Status Updates From In the Distance

I really do like how consistently Diaz sticks to this vignette structure - he never lets us forget that Håkan can't linger, that he has to keep moving forward, eastward, on, no matter who might want to make him stay for whatever reason. The nature of that trek means a lot of character will probably never show up again and hey, isn't that just life?

The landscape description on this part of Håkan's trek, particularly the furniture thrown about, remind me of the second half of The Terror TV show. <3

I love Diaz‘ writing so much it‘s so easily read while st the same time being very elaborately and well crafted it truly makes me appreciate writing as a craft 😭
