Status Updates From Great Bear Lake (Seekers, #2)

The gangs all together! Enjoyed the individual arcs that the main three had while at the lake and still think that the world building is super interesting. All of the different bear afterlives and their ceremony surrounding the solstice is fascinating. Also got more fights this time around and man, they're brutal. I've been considering reccing these books to Lillian because I loved them but damn.

Id forgotten that Kalliks brother turned into a jerk, juicy. And toklo has to fully Defend His Life? Damn these books were serious
(Yes it's been a while since I read this. Yes it is currently overdue at the library. Don't worry about it)

God the amount of just fighting to survive and Eat that these kids go through is insane. I can see the start of the adventure stuff, but this is mostly just "where are we getting our next meal"

— Montre-toi ! Je sais que tu es là ! » Oh fichtre

[SPOILER] « Une forme sombre fendait l’eau du lac. Un coq de bruyère ? Une belette ? L’ourson alla se cacher derrière le pin et regarda l’intrus sortir de l’eau.
Il crut que son cœur allait s’arrêter : ce n’était ni un coq ni une belette… mais un grizzli.
Un gigantesque grizzli bossu, qui secouait sa fourrure râpée sur la plage de galets. » AH—
