Pospelov is a delightfully slippery character, always having the exact right thing to say.

The relationship between Shosty and his first wife is portrayed interestingly, almost like a version of ENM before it was established as such, which seems hard to believe for the USSR

I do like this, but maybe it’s just because I’m al tired, all the jumping around between paragraphs to different points in his life is making it difficult to follow occasionally
