Dear Ms. Walko, I am not going to bed until I have finished this amazing book. I will be late to church tomorrow because of you. It has been a while since a romance has grabbed me by the girly bits and not let go. Right now Sani is having a heart to heart chat with Mister Happy. And Zeph who loves her looks. She's not that tired ass trope of "poor dark skinned me." Thank you for rejecting that nonsense.

Oh. My. Goddess!!! Ms. Walko, I love you!!! This book has it all and it's amazing. And best yet, no colorism fail. No pity party dark skinned heroine. Zeph's relationship with her transgender son is so beautiful to witness. I loved that opening scene. Sani is the kind of alpha that there aren't a lot of. He's messed up and knows it. He doesn't excuse it. He doesn't revel in it. And it makes him sympathetic.

Oh Zeph. Oh Sani. Both trying super hard to maintain and just go with the flow...with their hilarious inner voices and 'subdue the crazy' behavior.
I see a "Oh SHIT" on the horizon.

Finally able to start reading this, and at 9% of the read, I'm chuckling already. I love surly inner-voices. lol

“I feel like you’re trying to convince me that we don’t need condoms, but fuck that. If you impregnate me, I’m going to devour you like a praying mantis.” I pin Zeph against the wall and kiss her hard, because her threatening to kill or mutilate me is always so hot.

“So how do you feel about having more kids?” I ask casually.
