This could be either great or really trashy (and not necessarily in a good way) but I'm shallow and I love that cover so of course I'm reading it now

This book reads like the kind of self-indulgent wish fulfillment fic I would have written in college when I was obsessed with Wilde. Still it’s a fun read.

This turn of events is really cool.

Still marvelous! The setting, the characters, no clear-cut plot. I can't wait to see what is going to happen.

This is really, really good so far. Like, wow, I have such high expectations now.

And finally we’re into the part with demons. Took longer than I thought (but I’m enjoying this anyway).

I was never really bored with this book, but I am definitely not bored now. The pace picked up a lot about 2/3 through. Now I can't tear myself away.

This book isn't really what I expected. I thought it would have a lot of sensory imagery, like describing the smell of flowers, etc. Instead it's mostly about the two main characters worrying about what other people think of them, and hating each other (they're sisters). There isn't much romance, supernatural stuff, or action so far. But I'm curious what's going to happen next.

Love this so far. But I do have a weakness for sisters-at-odds narratives.

Oh so engaging! My frustration with the sisters’ squabbling, and Evadne especially, gave me bad dreams of people communicating poorly with themselves and others. *lol* I’m also loving the slow reveal of the demons and diabolists.

Jaw. Dropped. End of part 2 just carpet-bombed my brain.

Gender-swapped Dorian Gray with demons and lesbians? Yes please!

Really enjoying it. The story's rolling along nicely, the characters jump off the page, and I'm both fascinated by the world of the book and amused by the humor.

"an MRS in fencing"...umm, would that have been a common expression at the time this book is set? for the most part the writing is good and in line with its inspiration (Oscar Wilde) but occasionally there are more modern phrases that get thrown in that take me out of the story. first it was Dorina wondering if Evadne would really "rat her out" and now MRS. it just seems a bit out of place for the setting

Dear Ms. Tanzer, I'm in love with you. I'm in love with your writing and your characters and your delightful, creative mind.

This is very entertaining, nothing too complex or heavy but the style and characters are engaging.

Very fun read but not at all what I was expecting. Reminds me a bit of Kit Newman's vampire books without all the pop culture references.

Very slow start to this which is making me wonder if this is planned as part of a series. Quite romancey in feel-not what I expected but not bad.

Nice set-up so far. I'm interested to see where this story and these characters go.
