Status Updates From Gone Forever (Jack Widow, #1)

The flames sparked onto the floor. The blaze ate up the walls. Wood splintered, and the fire scratched at the outer walls like a pride of lions trying to get in. I had to get out.

Playing the part was something I was good at. Being undercover was something that I was good at. Being an investigator was something that I was good at. Only, I used to do it for a paycheck. Now I’d do it because it was personal.

She must’ve started thinking about my dad because she laughed and said, “He didn’t own a thing. Not one item to his name except for a toothbrush he kept in his pocket.”
I thought about this for a moment. A toothbrush? I guess that would be one thing a drifter would need if he wanted to keep his teeth clean. It made sense. A drifter would need a toothbrush, money, and identification.

I heard this whole book inside 24 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I intend definitely to write a bit more about Scott Blade's writing and the two 'Jack Widow' I have heard, but it will be a few days before I do.
