This was recommended to me by my religion professor. I was curious because we hadn’t discussed Islam in south east Asia (where the largest aggregate of its believers resides). So far, it’s complicated and I’ve found myself rereading sections often. Geertz not only teaches me new things, but I’ve learned more about baraka—a concept that still puzzles me.
