Just finished a chapter that talks about prayer in the Orthodox Church, and it highlights what's called "the Jesus prayer."
"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me" is a prayer like any other in that it can be said anywhere at any time. However, the Orthodox believe this specific prayer has special power when repeated during struggle, due to the invocation of Christ's name and its concise, memorable nature
