The fourth story wasn't scary it was just awful things happening and I guess I'm supposed to be afraid of because I don't want awful things to happen to me? That's not scary that's just not fun

(6): HOLY FUCKING SHIT. There’s no way I’m not giving this last story 5 STARS 🌟🌟🌟 It was sick. And horrendous. And disgusting. And I loved every moment of it. I’m speechless. This was horror. The type of horror I like to consume. The fucked up and sickening type. Wow. Amazing.

Wow. Avon Gale's story is so FREAKING GOOD!! Since I win this anthology from a giveaway, if Gale's story ever be released individually, I'll go purchase it by the seconds.

That second story ... HOLY CRAP. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. so far my favourite, but my girl KJ is next so I'm sure she'll be my fave

First story: strange, interesting, but it just ENDED??? like , give me more, what happened??

I'm not a horror fan so was a bit reluctant to start this one despite the fact I've read & love most of these contributing authors. I was quickly reminded (yet again) reading is a completely different experience from watching/viewing & though these stories are creepy-times, they worked for me. Enjoyed the first 2 - though I expected a diff ending in the 1st & I was so sad for both MCs when they concluded..

Legion: A Love Story by Avon Gale - such a sweet supernatural love novella.

Steve Berman's His Mouth Will Taste of Chernobyl - Oooh, this one is good. It is not a usual bogeyman story as you may have expected, rather everyday horror of coming-of-age life. I really appreciated the voice of the narrator, simple yet strong.

The Price of Meat by K.J. Charles - I bought this book for this particular story, and it totally paid off. Real Victorian horror story, with lesbian as the MC, raw, literally nauseous plot and all the brilliant cliche of the Penny Dreadful type. Perfection.

I'm 25% done with The Son: "Love Me True" by Kris Ripper To weak, AO3 is full of such stories. No suspense whatsoever, dragged out unnecessarily, the chapters after big reveal - which was predictable since, I think, first third of the story - are too diligent, instead of compassion they cause only boredom. The author went for the "Let's talk about Kevin" trope but missed a mile.

"Company" by Roan Parrish - I think the ending was a little bit rushed. I liked the unresolved problem, like, the MC has to live like this forever and that's the main horror of the story, but the ending ate part of this horror away.

I don't get freaked out by things, ever. I'm the person you don't want to watch the scary movie with because I'm making fun of it. But, I just finished Avon Gale's story, Legion, and ... holy shit. I wouldn't say it scared me, but it's definitely disturbing. Fun times!

I'm reading out of order, btw. I have also read, His Mouth ..., and it was good, but didn't bother me.
