Tennyson's "Locksley Hall" smack of Kipling. The ascendance of virile youth over the weak duplicity of the female and the implied chains of civil society. Onward to the sea!

"Dark Rosaleen": sheer romantic gothic doggerel from the early 19th C. Followed by E.B.Browning's "A Musical Instrument", which, for me, would have been more effective as a prose musing on the myth of Pan's discovery of the first reed flute. I guess I'm just not thoroughly poetic.
