Hope does not negate lament: nor does lament mean we don’t hope. We need more biblical lamenting; pouring out our pain and grief while acknowledging the God who hears us and promises us eternal restoration.

A good outcome does not nullify or justify pain… We may hope that God has a reason for allowing suffering… but that is very different from thinking we can know or understand why something is taking place.
