Status Updates From Men Without Women

Finished the fifth short story “Kino”. I’m honestly not sure what to think. I was really into it up until he was forced to go on a trip by Kamita. I’m sure I just didn’t understand it, but for me the momentum was killed by how abstract everything became.

Finished the third short story “Scheherazade”. Firstly, what a great short story. However, the further I get into this collection of short stories the deeper my respect gets for Ryusuke Hamaguchi. What a genius. To pluck aspects from each of these short stories and combine them into one perfect narrative for “Drive my car” is beyond fascinating.
