I might just dnf this. Everyone I know has been recommending it to me, saying it’s amazing, but it’s just so boring. I read books for the fantasy, for the battle, for the mystery. For more interesting reality. Not to go back 100 years until one of the most depressing eras there was to read about some taboo guy who doesn’t give a shit about his wife.

Aunque Wang Lung sea un machista de primera, se me hace un personaje querible. En esos tiempos, era ley ser cruel con la mujer. Te casaban y debías esperar que tu rutina sea ser esclava del marido y recibir unos buenos golpes. Pero Wang Lung es lo menos peor entre todos esos hombres.
Vaya que me hace querer darle unos buenos bofetones, pero es tierno... A veces.
