Status Updates From Classic Shell Scripting

The text looks blurry!
I can't really see where the author is going.

Didn't have patience for Chapters 8 and 11. Can't see relevance to chapter 14. Even Mac has Bash. Scripts should not run if Bash not found.

Already familiar with topics from some of the chapters.

So, the chapters left to go through are: 8, 11, 14 & 15.

Now into Chapter 6 ...

Chapter 4 was about text processing again. Maybe to practice some tools and concepts from Chapter 3.

Chapter 3 was mostly about manipulating strings using grep, sed and awk. Awk isa programming language, which is a lot more different from grep and sed, which only go up to the use of regular expressions.

Why would I need to learn awk when I can use so many other languages?

Getting comfortable with bash. Chapter 2 provides you with the lay of the land.

For a technical book its not as boring as you would think...atleast through chapter 2.
