A fantasy book about the MC's struggles/origins of becoming a witch hunter. The world was interesting and seemed to exist outside of the story itself. The book was dragged a bit and I felt that a lot of the characters were introductory, but had potential. My favorite part was when Gregory lectured Tom about the witches and other creatures of the world. A fine book, doesn't stand on its own though...
