Picked reading to finish off the various views on the structure of Bulgakov's masterpiece. The relationship of spatial structures and characters was interesting.

Thus far this collection of essays is of more help in obtainining a better understanding of the author Bulgakov than his novel The Master & Margarita which by itself is not that difficult to follow. This edition collects most of the essays prior to its publication in 1996.

Intellectually stimulating, without being too difficult and verbose, this is really a great introduction to novel and I am so glad to be reading both at the same time. Now, if only I could find my copy of Goethe's Faust, but that's wishful thinking.

Did I mention that I'm a dork? And that I take notes on this sort of book in my journal? Dork dork dork.
