Campbell is rather sexist. Different era, but abrasive still.

10 pages in and I can already tell I am going to love reading everything Joseph Campbell has ever written

I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. I find Campbell is a creature of his time, one of the last true "Moderns," full of wet liberal hypocrisy and far too indoctrinated on heart, compassion, and bliss being the highest spiritual markers of the ideology of transcendental Being of Beings, a great happy stuporous soup of childish irresponsibility. I like him more when he sticks to Myth rather than Theos.
