Susan B Anthony addressed Senate in 1880 explaining the moral necessity pressing upon the nation to attach a 16th amendment to put power in women’s hands to “help make, shape, and control the social conditions of society everywhere.” She presented research on states where women could vote & sit on juries to the betterment of those communities and how the federal government thwarted these rights time and again.

Born Isabella Baumfree, in 1851 she stated: “Well, children, where there is so much racket there must be something out of kilter.” Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I A Woman” is straight to the point, questioning the idiocies spewed from the mouths of men as ‘reasons’ why women can’t vote. Eloquently she also reminds clergy that Christ came from God and a woman & man had no part in it.
