A 24 yr old white boy gets a posh UN job. And he thinks he's the most idealistic of them all.

2 big things:
1. You can tell how young and inexperienced the author is in the world and in diplomacy
2. The greed for money and power that has manipulated world politics + the trap of trying to find solutions when it’s so vulnerable, or outright open to layers of manipulation to make sure those w/power + money get more and those w/out struggle, suffer, + die and not matter bc they’re not in those 1st circles
