I just don't understand why the pedophile character is a necessary main character. I especially don't understand why the scenes featuring said character targeting a child need to be on page/explicit.

I find it hard to believe some of these scenes are necessary. I definitely should have looked at the content warnings instead of just going "oh this fits a reading challenge AND my library has it." Blech.
