Edna sobbing while Mademoiselle Reisz plays the song Robert asked Mme to play for her while she reads his letter. oh wow.

‘All but the hundred years when you were sleeping. Good-night.’
He pressed her hand and went away in the direction of the beach.”

I don't know why this is making me so emotional. Well, maybe I do. That feeling of being lost, waking up, and realizing you aren't where you thought you were, and aren't where you want to be. I also find myself swimming as far as I can out into the ocean, hoping no one will follow—that moment of serenity in the sea. I'm also deeply moved by the quiet intimacy of Edna and Robert. A soft love filled with devotion.
