Status Updates From Edinburgh

Intriguing story. Don't know what to feel about this book. It's a mix of gorgeous prose and clunky storytelling. I can't ignore the author's use of misplaced descriptive similes—trying to be too poetic yet lacking profundity—it's so funny. 😂

Example:
- "The desire I have, like the fungi that grow in Peter's yard"
- "I can see boiling clouds, dark like duck wings"

Interesting so far but the lack of quotations marks and inappropriate similes are killing me
