These are like those historical girl books, but for adults. The sheer amount of historical details about working and living in the time period are almost overwhelming. I could almost use an index with some little line drawings of the historical home objects/food/clothing the author references.

I think the fantasy discussion of a threesome during sex might have been offputting enough for me to dnf this book. What was holding me here were the very realistic character dynamics but the sex has already felt disconnected from any emotional strides they make.
Also apparently an actual threesome scene was cut from the book.
