Status Updates From The Dragon Waking

Big action scene, dinosaurs running around everywhere -- then the action stops so Rose and Jade can make a magic saddle... ?? Strange. I'd have suggested the girls make the saddle while they were trying to figure out what the rock was for, before the mayhem with bad-news Triumph began. That scene slowed the action of the book's climax down a lot.

This is okay so far. I'm enjoying it a lot more than other middle grade books I have read. The protagonist has actually *ridden* the dragon on the cover by this point, and that's great. It took a while to get to there, but at least the dragon-riding scene happened. It's a bummer that Rose has no goal in the story before the dragon appeared. She doesn't make a very engaging protagonist for that reason.

I believe in all sorts of things I can't see but even I find that a bit far fetched.

Despite my love of dragons, I'm not sure how I feel about this book.

Strange so far, but interesting enough to keep reading
