Status Updates From Dark Journey

I think I'm going to have to return to this one when I'm feeling a bit more tolerant. Slow, as wordy as they get and 50 characters introduced in 50 pages.

Ms. Morlan had obviously studied early Peter Straub before writing this. It reads exactly like a mix between Ghost Story and Floating Dragon (two of my all-time faves), only with more em dashes; em dashes within em dashes, bracketed by parentheses. But the phrasing, the jumping back and forth in time, the character-jumping, etc. all remind me of Straub, which isn't a bad thing, necessarily, but it's almost uncanny.
