I love that EVERY SINGLE PERSON except for her sister is fat. “Marilyn Monroe in her fat phase” do you mean her “drop-dead kick-me-in-the-face gorgeous phase”? Come on. Get real, little girl. Marilyn Monroe is a legend & you disrespecting her just makes you look bad.

I finally figured out which mother is which. I thought Cora was the crazy mess and Lynette was the yoga 2 year old, but it’s the other way around. I also found out Cora isn’t really the best mother. She wasn’t proud of her daughter at all when she had been in her first movie. She said she was disgusted by the idea of having sex with her husband

Delia and Anna are getting along really well. While Rodger was a total flop, Dex, Delia’s actual boyfriend (I think?) is super funny. Delia’s also less fake around him. I’m glad Delia isn’t too mad at Anna.

I’m glad Lynette called.. I was expecting her to be a lot more harsh because Anna described her as a scary strict person. Lynette was pretty reasonable and didn’t yell at all (Lynette is the woman Anna’s mom married).

The book is a little hard to follow, but that doesn’t make it uninteresting. Right now. Delia is acting and Anna is getting bored by the terrible lines, so she’s working on an assignment given to her by Rodger which she doesn’t want to do. (42)

I’m glad Delia’s letting Anna stay for a few days to cool off. Also, the way Delia talked about her mom was really nice.. I just wish Anna wouldn’t have gotten “Cora 2.0” (p 16)

So far this book is already crazy. On page 1, it talks about how Anna’s mom was trying to get pregnant with her son... Anna has already run away from home, taking her moms credit card. She is now living with her sister Delia.

Anna is one of the most unlikeable characters, I don’t sympathize with her at all.

I am so confused, I am intrigued by this book, the back story on the Manson girls is fun to read about but... is the author homophobic??? Jfc the whole reasoning behind her mother “becoming” a lesbian angers me to know end, also the author used the term “dyked-out” wtf. And countless other things said about lesbians in general that anger me.

Wow the Mother. What a colossal bitch.

I like the writing and I'm starting to like Anna a little better but can we get rid of this idea that glasses make women less attractive? And make them all self conscious? Especially a teenager in 2017 when glasses have been a trend for a bit. Nerdy is chic now for teens.

Enjoying so far, good story line & interesting learning about the Manson Girls/murders.

Wasn't super into the writing right away, but... I think I might like where this is going.

It's not that interesting how I think it could be,but it's okay.

Interesting story so far, sort of a guilty pleasure. Some parts of this book are insensitive towards things like eating disorders and mental health, though if you look past that- it’s a fun read I guess 🤷‍♀️

This doesn't seem worth finishing, but I'll try nevertheless.

are you fucking kidding me? why does everyone like this book when it is so horrible. Not horrible in the writing sense but content. I absolutely hate the main character she's a horrible person. Might dnf this....

Even if Lynette remote wiped the phone, it would turn on. She didn't drain the battery from afar. I'm not sure I'm going to like thus book.

Any book that opens with a chapter about John Waters and Leslie Van Houten is a winner for me.
