This is well written, and I understand why it's a classic. I never read it as a kid, so I'm listening to it now for the PBS Great American Read list that I periodically work on, but it's a lot of redundance (he's always just chopping trees and trapping), and also, just senseless hunting of raccoons. But, I also DNFed Call of the Wild.
