So one of my reading strategies (when I've hit a dry stretch) is to scour the backlist of my go-to authors to see if I've overlooked a title.

And Lo and Behold! Ben Monopoli, who has never let me down, has me riveted with the sweet realism of these linked stories about growing into gay-selfhood in "The Youth and Young Loves of Oliver Wade."

What a find! What an achingly moveable feast!

That last one confused me a bit... Thought I was missing something from not reading Porcupine City first, cuz the delayed explanation. But damn.
